Suspension setups

Postby saboteur » Tue May 06, 2008 10:57 pm

Just wondering what everyone is running out there. Currently I have Whiteline front and rear swaybars, plus Koni shocks with King springs. It's really nice on the track, but around the street the ride quality is pretty poor. I've been considering a set of Tein Super Streets as they seem to be a bit more street friendly.

the teins are great but the ride is very harsh compared to stock. altho i got the superpro bushes installed at the same time as my teins, so maybe the harsher ride is more a result of the bushes.

What is the best "bang for buck" suspension mod for my NB ? its stock as a rock atm apart from a Kaaz 1.5 way

Just wondering what mods people would do first for the best result if they had their time over?.....

cheers Warwick

Welcome to the site!

To answer your question - personally I would go with either sway bars or shocks. The sway bars will make the car sit heaps flatter around corners, and make it feel like it has loads more grip even if it doesn't!

My old MX-5 had Koni shocks and Eibach springs, this worked well enough but I think the Tein coilovers aren't much more and seem to work much better.

I'm running Tein Super Streets now and love 'em.

I put Flex's in over the weekend and the car feels somewhat unstable / unsettled in the rear now.

My mate drove it last night and still couldnt work it out..

Hopefully an alignment corrects it.

Well got them in and all is good now!!!

Cant talk any higher of Accurate Suspension at Woodridge.

The car now feels amazing after his play and also has a very awesome alignment and turn in!!
